Privacy Policy

The short version

Your images are never uploaded to us. PicsTag is a static website. The AI model runs inside your browser, so the images you tag are read from your disk into your browser's memory and stay there. We do not have a server that could receive them, and we could not look at them if we wanted to.

What is stored on your device

  • AI model files (about 250 MB) are downloaded from a public model host on first use and cached by your browser so later visits are fast.
  • Your settings — including an OpenRouter API key if you choose to add one — are stored in your browser's local storage. They never reach us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
  • Your images, tags and captions live in the page's memory and are gone when you close the tab.

If you use the cloud model option

PicsTag can optionally send an image to a cloud vision model through OpenRouter, using an API key that you provide. In that case the image (or its URL) is sent from your browser directly to OpenRouter, under their terms and privacy policy. We are not a party to that request: we do not proxy it, we do not see the key, and we do not see the bill. This mode is off by default.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. We do not build advertising profiles from it and we do not sell data.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data on itspartner sites page. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, or you have any question about this policy, write to us atcontact@picstag.app.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page.
